Former Principal at Archbishop Curley Notre Dame High School, Mr. Douglas Romanik, a Harvard University graduate, recently joined The Cushman School's administration as the High School Program Director. Mr. Romanik will work closely with Cushman's High School Director, Mrs. Caroline Lewis, (the founder/CEO of the CLEO Institute and former High School Director at Ransom Everglades for over a decade) and well as Cushman's Head of School, Ms. Arvi Balseiro, in maintaining the 94-year-old school's mission and philosophy while delivering a 21st century curriculum.
The high school's unique programming engages students in becoming "agents of change" as they analyze global issues and find and deliver local solutions. Aside from this required, annual "Society & Me Challenge Seminar", the integration of design, music and technology are key components of the rigorous academic offerings. An impressive team of faculty and staff, committed to this one-of-a-kind educational environment, has been brought on to ensure a seamless continuation of Cushman's standard of excellence in developing leaders of tomorrow, and that 100% of its students matriculate on to the top universities of their choice.
Cushman's high school division enjoyed a successful 2016-17 inaugural year and will soon occupy its new state of the art facility at 4700 Biscayne Blvd. this fall.
