Letter from Head of School
It is an honor to have this chance to share my feelings with you.
I had the very great privilege of working with and learning from our founder, Dr. Laura Cushman. I embraced her vision and have tried to further the mission over the last 32 years.
While structurally the education has varied in the 87 years since the school was founded, the core tenants of our mission remain the same. Our students continue to have success because we stay true to our mission.
The Cushman School in the 21st century is still a place where talented students are encouraged to be their authentic selves, to discover how to be responsible citizens, and to feel the joy of doing their personal best.
Our students are surrounded by adults who model the behavior we are nurturing in our students and are committed to helping those students be the best they can be. Following this mission binds generations of alumni, friends, and supporters of our school and its continued success.
As you peruse the pages of this website, evidence of our historic mission, as well as the inspiring vision for the future, will be evident.
The coming years look very bright for The Cushman School, and I thank you sincerely for your help and support in the past and invite you to continue to partner with us to keep the mission and vision alive and well for this generation and those in the future.
