Welcome to the heart of your child’s educational journey, middle school. At Cushman's Middle School, we provide a challenging academic environment for all students while remaining focused on Cushman’s tradition of prioritizing character development, as per the vision and philosophy of our founder, Dr. Laura Cushman.
The Cushman Middle School exists to serve the unique academic, physical, social, and emotional needs of the adolescent. The faculty and staff of the Cushman Middle School are committed to providing a quality education to all students. In doing so, they maintain a nurturing environment where teaching, relationships and learning are exciting and students are encouraged to develop the next level of responsibilities needed for high school.
All aspects of our school’s organization are student centered and designed to meet individual learning styles as students grow in all academic areas, the arts and athletics. The development of the whole child is an integral part of every program.
Cushman's Middle School, made up of 6th, 7th and 8th grades, offers an engaging academic curriculum infused with critical thinking, problem solving, fine arts and technology. Each student attends classes in Math, Science, English, Social Studies, Latin, Spanish and Physical Education. We offer honors and advanced classes in Mathematics and World Languages in both the 7th and 8th grades. Middle school students are also required to participate in our Fine Arts Program that includes both a performing arts and visual/creative arts curriculum.
Our school has a reputation for innovation, creativity, dedication, personalization and excellence. We have a highly qualified and progressive teaching staff that is committed to providing our students with culturally relevant and rigorous instruction utilizing alternative curriculum and resources in addition to traditional methods. We strive to reach each child academically as well as socially and emotionally. Our graduates consistently stand out as happy, self-assured individuals as they continue their educational journey.
