Our Library and Birthday Book Tradition

The library is a magical place on Cushman’s Main Campus where our students’ imaginations come alive. Surrounded by a variety of stories and educational literature, this beautiful, yet comfortable, space allows students to read, relax and study in the solitude of a real library. This is significant since many schools today are doing away with tangible books and libraries on their campuses and going completely electronic. We are proud to provide our students with the research-based benefits of this experience.

A long-standing tradition at The Cushman School is for each student to be presented with a Birthday Book on or around their special day. After enjoying their book for some time at home, their book is then returned and "gifted" to our library with a label displaying that student’s name. Many of our alumni love returning to our library and finding their books.
